“Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’s Enlightenment Day Dharma Service”
On Sunday, July 13, 2025, ABLS will observe Avalokitesvara (Guanyin) Bodhisattva’s Enlightenment Day. The celebration will begin at 9 AM with the Liturgy of Guanyin Bodhisattva,during which the assembly will recite the Avalokiteshvara Mantra (incantation), Heart Sutra, Universal Gate Sutra. Following this, Master Tian He, the Abbess, will provide an insightful introduction to the practice of Guan Yin Dharma. At noon, the Food Offering Ceremony will be conducted. The afternoon session will resume at 1:30 PM, where participants will engage in chanting the Cundī Sutra and Cundī Mantra, followed by Eighty-Eight Buddha Repentance, and Meng Shan Food Bestowal Ceremony (offering food for the deceased).
“Ullambana Celebration Dharma Service”
In the post-pandemic era, the 2025 Ullambana Celebration Dharma Service will continue as a One-Month Intensive Practice (please refer to the attached timetable for details). The practice will take place from August 9 to September 5, 2025, with each evening session dedicated to chanting the Emperor of Liang Jeweled Repentance. On September 6 at 4:00 PM, the Eighty-Eight Buddha Repentance Ceremony and Liturgy of Medicine Buddha will be held to pray for the health, longevity, and prosperity of the living. The final day, September 7, at 9:00 AM, will feature the Amitabha Buddha Thrice Yearning and Chanting Service, led by Venerable Zhi Guang, the abbot of Pu Guang Temple in Oakland, California. This service is dedicated to transferring merits to the deceased, with the aspiration that they may swiftly attain rebirth in the Pure Land.
Every Sunday (9:00 – 15:30), all are cordially invited to join us inside the Buddha Hall without the need for prior appointments. For those planning to stay for the afternoon service, we offer a complimentary lunch. Please bring your lunch box and utensils.
Additionally, from Tuesday to Saturday (8:30 – 16:00), visitors are welcome to come inside the Buddha Hall on their own. Morning and Evening Liturgy are open for participation from Monday to Saturday.
Please note that Lectures such as Introduction to the Vimalakīrti Sutra continue to be hosted on ZOOM, as before.
