Huayen Offerings to Buddhas and Celestial Beings Dharma Event and Chinese New Year Cundī Blessing Service
ABLS will host Huayen Offerings to Buddhas and Celestial Beings Dharma Event (Function) and Chinese New Year Cundī Blessing service from February 25 through March 4.
On February 25, 2018 starting at 9 AM, there will be Offerings to Buddha ceremony and Chinese New Year prayer service. The afternoon session will be Eighty-Eight Buddha Repentance and Meng Shan Food Bestowal Ceremony.
On each day from February 26 through March 3, the assembly will chant the CundīSutra and CundīMantra (Incantation) from 4 to 5:30 PM. On the last day of March 4 starting at 9 AM, the congregation will practice the Cundi Repentance and Cundī Mantra in the morning and Eighty-Eight Buddha Repentance and Meng Shan Food Bestowal Ceremony in the afternoon.
From the practice of repentance and chanting mantra, we can cleanse impurity of our minds, reflecting Cundi Buddha’s wisdom and compassion. It’s a great way to starting a new year of Buddhist practice. All is welcome to participate.
Avalokiteshvara (Guanyin) Bodhisattva’s Birthday Celebration Dharma Service
ABLS will celebrate the Avalokiteshvara (Guan Yin) Bodhisattva’s Birthday on April 1, 2018. Starting at 9 AM, the assembly will first chant the Avalokiteshvara Mantra (incantation), Heart Sutra and the Universal Gate Sutra. Then Master Tian Cheng, the Abbess, will introduce the doctrine and practice of Avalokiteshvara. Food offering for blessings will be at noon. Starting again at 1:30 PM, participants will chant the Cundī Sutra and Cundī Mantra. For the evening session, there will be Eighty-Eight Buddha Repentance and Meng Shan Food Bestowal Ceremony.
All are invited to pray for Guan Yin’s blessings, and the merits will be dedicated to all attendees for happiness and wisdom.
Registration has begun for the following yearlong services: offerings to the Triple Gem, blessing plates for the living, light offerings to Buddha, pacifying Tai Sui (for the birth year of Dragon, Ox, Goat, Dog) and blessing plates for the deceased.
